Personal Glimpses

  • I was surprised and elated when I heard that I had won a Swannie Award. These awards are given to the best speaker from each grade in debating. At Brunswick we are given really fanatastic debating opportunities including workshops and competitions. Debating has helped me become more confident in speaking to large groups and with essays, presentations and my general approach to studying and thinking about issues.  Holly, Year 10

" I have been a student at Brunswick Secondary College since I have been in Year 7. So far, it has been a very enjoyable five  years.  i have particpated in many school events and I have especially enjoyed being a helper at Parent- Teacher- Student interviews and many other events. My contribution to the school has helped me to improve my English, my general communication skills and  my confidence. This year I am doing my first year of the two year (VCE) Victorian Certificate of Education. Although VCE  is hard, my classmates and teachers are very friendly and approachable and I am looking forward to the year."

- Nguyen, Year 11, Vietnam

"Brunswick Secondary College provides me with all I need to be a successful student at this school. I feel proud to particpate in all of the sports events and the many other activities that I can at the college. I am also very proud that I am the first person at Brunswick Secondary College from my country. This school gives me a lot of ideas for further information, education and career."

- Norbu. Year 10, Bhutan

"I'm from Vietnam. I've been in Australia for 7 months.  Brunswick Secondary College is my first school here. Seven months is not the longest time to remark on everything exactly. However, it is enough time for me to get  used to this school and the people here.  I love this school!  People are so friendly and I even have best friends who help me a lot with my study and my new life. I am doing VCE now. It's quite hard but the teachers and  my friends have opened up many chances for me. I know that I will have many good memrories that I will never forget for certain when I leave this school . They will happen here, these memories, in Brunswick Secondary College."

- Chi Vu, Year 11, Vietnam
