​The Science Micro Teaching initiative involves University of Melbourne Master of Teaching pre-service teachers working with small groups of Brunswick SC students once per week for the remainder of term. The student teachers prepare micro lessons to teach a specific scientific concept and topic to the same group of between four to six students.  Our involvement in this  initiative extends over a decade with the partnership providing pre-service teachers with a valuable introduction to teaching and our junior students with engaging micro lessons.in Science. One of our Maths and Science teachers, Nicholas Kemp, was involved in Science Micro Teaching at Brunswick in 2011, his positive experience of our students being one of the reasons he chose to apply to teach here. Brunswick Secondary College's  strong student numbers and achievement in Science at VCE level grows from student engagement in Science in the junior years and we thank the 2012 Master of Teaching students for their contribution and enthusiasm.
