We are proud and delighted to have a breeding bull in Cambodia named after our school. The bull was purchased with funds that the Brunswick Secondary College students, parents and teachers raised to support the World Challenge team’s community project at Don Bosco Technical School in Cambodia in November last year. The Don Bosco School caters for students from local farms who cannot afford to continue their academic education. It incorporates a farm that sustains the education of all 800 students. Our World Challenge students found great fulfilment in working on the farm and assisting teaching English in the school. In an email home, they reflected that ‘The students we got to work with ranged from 4 to 27 years of age and the smiles they gave us were indescribable, nothing could compare! ‘ In addition to the breeding bull named Brunswick, the money BSC raised was used to purchase 7 cows, two weeders for the rice fields, one drum seeder for rice, a mushroom farm and two rented tip trucks to move soil for the sewerage water filtration area. All purchases will assist the sustainability of the school and its community.
