International students need to demonstrate the required level in English before entry into the school.

Many of our overseas students attend the Brunswick English Language Centre first. At the English Language Centre (which is located within the main campus of the college) students study English intensively for three to twelve months  according to their proficiency.

The English Language Centre staff work closely with our mainstream teachers in order to ensure a smooth transition to secondary school life.

International Student Enrolment Process

  1. All applications are processed through the DET - International Education Division.  Please refer to their website and follow the links to apply.  Note that this information can be read in Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Korean.

Once an application has been forwarded from the International Student Division to Brunswick Secondary College, the college will check placement availability for the Year Level requested. If placement is available, the college will arrange a skype interview meeting (including a translator as required) during which an Oral and Literacy Assessment Task must be completed by the student.

Following the completion of this process, students and families will be advised of confirmation of placement.
