As Dux of Brunswick Secondary, people ask me why I wanted to do a combined Nursing/Arts Degree instead of Law. I was accepted into Nursing Arts at the ACU, a good opportunity for me to combine my love of learning with the career I see myself doing in the future. That is the only advice I can give to future year 12 students - Do what you love!

High school has been a wonderful experience. My teachers are really patient, friendly and teach me well. Year 7 has been the best year of my life. I have made so many friends and fitted in to BSC. I am really enjoying myself.- Alexis 7W
Some of the things I am looking forward to in year 7 are... being a part of the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge, making new friends, having a different teacher for every subject, going on excursions, playing on the new hockey, learning drums and participating in interschool sports.-Kady, Year 7
Congratulations to Blaine Broomhall and Alex Penman who won Swannie Awards in last years DAV competition. A Swannie Award is given to the student in each region and each grade that achieves the highest overall speaker score during the year’s competition.
Andrew Elvey-Price is to be congratulated on his outstanding success in the Australian Mathematical Olympiad (AMO). This year 92 students from around Australia, year 12 and below, attempted the competition. Andrew placed third (Gold Certificate), the leading student from Victoria and the leading year 11 in Australia.
I have been offered a place in International Relations/Law at LaTrobe University. This is a double degree which lasts five years, and can either lead to practising Law in any field or being involved in formulating policy on an international level. This course was my first preference and I was happy to be accepted.

Going from primary to secondary school has been a good experience for me. While it is hard to leave old friends, it was easier for me as I have my sister at the school. I have enjoyed making new friends and learning new things.-Nikki 7W
The first 3 weeks here have been lots of fun. Secondary College is a lot different to primary school. All the teachers are very nice and so are all the students. I like English and Science best. We used bunsen burners in Science.- Amy 7W
I am going to do a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, hopefully majoring in Actuarial Studies. I miss Brunswick SC because of the relationships and friendships I developed with all the students and teachers. I'll never forget what I learnt at Brunswick Secondary College about work ethic, other cultures and different types of people.
Congratulations to Rebecca Schot-Guppy who obtained a perfect score of 50 for Units 3 and 4 Physical Educaiton in 2007. Rebecca, who was in Year 11 at the time, did VCE Physical Education and Biology as part of the College's VCE Early Start Program. Rebecca obtained 46 for Biology.
I am in the first circus class ever at BSC. Grace Billings, a hoola hooper from Flame Oz, is coming in to teach us some fantastic tricks with hoops - some of my favourite tricks include ‘around the neck’ and ‘two over.'We have also been learning acrobatics and juggling. We plan to learn stilt-walking, acro-balance, staff/poi and performance skills. - Lucy,Year 7
I am very happy to have been accepted into a Bachelor of Childhood teaching at Melbourne Uni. What Iíll miss most about Brunswick is being able to see my friends every day. I wish the year 12 class of 2008 the best of luck.

This year I'm studying a Bachelor of Professional Communication at RMIT University. From my time at BSC I have learned to make the most of opportunities that come my way and to be open to diversity. The thing I'll miss most about the school is my teachers. Their enthusiastic and inspirational personalities will be hard to forget. -Ashley ,Year 12 2007
